October is a bittersweet month for me. It’s a month filled with the beauty of Fall, and the dark memories of seeing friends and loved ones in pain. My amazingly resilient mother-in-law was diagnosed with an especially challenging case, just before I found out I was pregnant with our daughter. Making the journey of chemo and radiation with her was the ultimate feeling of helplessness. We are immensely blessed that she is cancer free, these 7 years later.
In the years following my mother-in-laws breast cancer journey, young, otherwise healthy, friends and acquaintances of mine were diagnosed. It can be hard to find hope in the fear, but it has helped me to know that so many people are putting their talents, finances, and skills forward for a cure. To know that I can do even a small part by buying a product that raises money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), gives me a glimmer of hope.
Read on for my top 4 beauty products that raise money for BCRF.
1. Jo Malone Limited Edition Peony and Blush Suede Cologne 100 mL $165
The Product: This fragrance is classically chic. I don’t own it, but I have smelled it in store and it is incredible. I would love to have any Jo Malone fragrance in my collection. The special edition bottle is stunning with black peonies and a blush pink ribbon. The juice has notes of apple, rose, jasmine and suede. How can you go wrong?
The Donation: 50% of the price is donated to BCRF up to a total of $60,000.
2. Aerin BCRF Purse Spray Duo $58
The Product: Two large, travel size purse sprays are included. The first is a fragrance that I own, and wear on repeat. It’s called Mediterranean Honeysuckle, and it reminds me of walks through the honeysuckle sprinkled mountains of my childhood in Asheville, NC. With notes of honeysuckle (of course!), citrus and white florals, this scent comes together for a vibrant splash of hope. The other fragrance included is new to me and sounds perfect for autumn, with sandalwood, musk and coconut water facets.
The Donation: 50% of the purchase price will be donated to BCRF with a max of $20,000.
3. Bobbi Brown Powerful Pinks Crushed Oil Infused Gloss Duo $37
The Product: As a Bobbi Brown super fan, I have been dying to try this oil infused gloss formulation. These colors look stunning! In the Buff is a pinky nude that would be great for everyday. Slow Jam is a wearable raspberry that would be great for cocktails with friends, or just and elevated daytime look with just a swipe of berry blush and mascara.
The Donation: 100% of the purchase will go to BCRF with a max of $110,000.
4. Estee Lauder Limited Edition Pink Ribbon Advanced Night Repair Serum 1.7 oz $125
The Product: A beloved formula that does it all. From smoothing, to brightening, to firmness, this is my go to product when I feel like my skin has been overworked and looks tired. I smooth it on overnight and wake up with comforted, more radiant skin. A must try for all skin types and ages.
The Donation: 20% of the purchase price goes to BCRF with a max of $258,000.
