When I heard that Lancome Juicy Tubes were returning after 20 years, I was instantly transported to the Clinique Happy scented halls of my high school in the year 2000. I was 16, and desperately trying to fit in. Juicy Tubes were the IT lipgloss and I had to get my hands on them.
I remember going to the mall with my mom and twin sister and we each chose our favorite color and scent from the Lancome counter. I can’t remember which one I chose, but you can bet I treasured it, and carried it everywhere I went. Applying that glossy, slightly sticky formula in my high school locker mirror was addictive.
It was my first foray into department store makeup, and it provided the perfect transition into “grown-up lipgloss”. With its youthful candy shop of flavors and colors, and sophisticated packaging and formula, it is truly ageless.
These days, I am a 38-year-old wife and mom, and my nostalgia for Juicy Tubes led me to try 2 of their gorgeous colors.
Framboise Pop is a happy pink raspberry color with a cool metallic shimmer. The subtle berry smell brings me right back to those high school days.
Marshmallow Electro is a barely-there sheer pink with silver sparkle. It works perfectly as a topper for any lipstick when it needs a sparkly plumping boost, and its sweet treat smell is almost effervescent.
The other shades range from shimmering-reds to creamy nudes, and purple pops. There is truly a color for everyone.
